FAQs
Do I have to have previous knowledge of Ayurveda or yoga before working with you?
Absolutely not! Part of the fun of working together is discovering your dosha and learning how this ancient wisdom can apply to your modern life. And my yoga classes are always beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels. If you are completely new to the practice, I can design a foundational program for you so that you feel comfortable in a home or studio practice going forward.
What if I'm not sure which package is right for me?
Book a free 15-minute Discovery Call! We’ll discuss what you are looking for and whether one of my current offerings is the right fit, or whether a custom approach makes more sense
Do I need a Discovery Call before booking?
Nope! If you already know which package feels right for you, you're welcome to book directly.
How do I book Ayurveda sessions?
Please purchase a package first (Rooted, Radiant, or Integration Sessions 1-, 3- or 5-pack) on my Offerings Page. You can then book your session directly here or by messaging me via the contact form.
How do I prepare for our first session?
Once you book your Intake Session, I will send you an intake form to complete via Google Forms. Please complete this no later than 48 hours before we meet so we can make the most of our time together.
How do I sign up for yoga classes?
If you would like to arrange a private session either in person in Sayulita or virtually, send me a message for pricing and availability! My group classes at Rose Room are drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis. See their website directly for more details.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
They can be either! I work with clients virtually year-round, in Sayulita during the fall, winter, and spring, and in northern New Jersey (Wayne and surrounding areas) during the summer. We can also create a hybrid approach—for example, if you're visiting Sayulita for your initial intake, we can continue your sessions online afterward.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 12 hours prior to our scheduled appointment. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 12 hours in advance will incur a $20 cancellation fee.
How far apart are Ayurveda sessions?
Generally we leave about a week between the Intake and Elemental Findings Session. After that, we'll decide on the right cadence of the Integration Sessions for you, so you have time to integrate the practices into your daily routine. Generally, Integration Sessions are scheduled weekly or biweekly, with more space between sessions the longer we work together. You also have the option to purchase add-on sessions for seasonal check-ins or whenever you feel like you need a little extra support!
How long do I have to complete a package?
I don’t enforce a time limit on packages, as I encourage my clients to see me when they need support.
Can I start with a single session?
The minimum is two sessions so that we can complete your Intake and then meet again to review your Elemental Findings. I highly recommend at least one Integration Session so we can check in on how everything has landed and I can provide additional personalized recommendations. If you are simply curious to know your dosha or can’t make the financial commitment to a package, send me a message and we’ll discuss options.
What if I don’t like Indian food?
No worries at all! Although Ayurveda originated in India, and many traditional Ayurvedic recipes come from Indian cuisine, its principles can be applied to all types of cuisines. My approach isn't about restrictive food lists or completely overhauling your diet. We'll look at what you're already eating, your individual needs, and small changes that feel realistic for your life. Trust me, I’d never tell my Italian New Jersey clients to give up pasta or my Mexican clients to give up tacos!
Is Ayurveda a replacement for medical care?
No. I am an Ayurvedic Wellness Coach certified to educate clients in the system of Ayurvedic wellness; I am not a medical doctor and Ayurveda coaching is not a substitute for medical care. Our work together is meant to complement the care of your other providers. Although I may suggest lifestyle practices, dietary changes, or herbal recommendations, please do not discontinue medical care or use of any medications without first speaking to your physician.
I have a specific health concern. Can Ayurveda help?
Ayurveda can offer supportive lifestyle and wellness practices for many different concerns, but every situation is unique. During our initial conversation, we'll discuss what you're experiencing and whether working together is appropriate within my scope. When something falls outside my scope of practice, I'll always encourage you to work with the appropriate licensed healthcare professional.
