What exactly is Ayurveda?
Literally translated to “life science” and often referred to as the sister science to yoga, Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest systems of traditional medicine. It is a holistic approach to wellness that honors nature’s seasonal rhythms and recognizes that each of us has a unique mind-body constitution shaped by the five elements of nature. The three doshas made up of the elements—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—are one of the ways Ayurveda helps us understand our individual tendencies and what we may need to find our natural balance and radiance.
If this sounds a bit like wellness jargon, or you’re wondering how to even pronounce “Ayurveda,” I’ve got you. I promise that although these sacred and ancient practices did originate in India thousands of years ago, they are still very much applicable to modern life. I believe now more so than ever. In a world overwrought with screens, processed food, and a never-ending stream of new wellness trends, Ayurveda invites us to slow down and simplify, to tend to our bodies and our nervous systems in a way we may have forgotten how to.
Not sure IF AYURVEDA IS right for you?
I truly believe no matter where you find yourself in this life, everyone can benefit from the wisdom of Ayurveda.
But especially if any of this rings true for you:
Ayurveda is about bringing to the surface the wisdom that already resides in each and every one of us. Not about adding more to your to-do list. It's about understanding what your body is asking for and making small, sustainable shifts that support you in the life you're already living.
If you are curious and committed enough to incorporate even small lifestyle changes, I truly believe Ayurveda can help you create more balance and connection in your everyday life.
I can promise you wholeheartedly that it has for me.
Tired of feeling like you're constantly running on empty
Struggling with digestion or bowel irregularity
Experiencing energy highs and crashes
Feeling foggy, overwhelmed, or overstimulated
Having trouble sleeping
Noticing changes in your cycle or entering a new stage of life
Craving a more intentional relationship with your body
Tired of trying wellness trends that don't actually stick
What does working with
me look like?
Although Ayurveda does teach us to eat according to our mind-body type and the seasons, I won’t just hand you restrictive food lists and send you on your way. My approach uses a grounded, approachable blend of Ayurvedic wellness, yoga and movement practices and sustainable routine and ritual. Every session, we'll look at simple ways to help you build a deeper relationship with your body—one where you are naturally called to slow down enough to hear what she needs to feel nourished, grounded, and alive.
